My son got some spots of acrylic craft paint (from a project that had not completely dried) on the door of my car. Is there anything that will remove the spots without harming the car's clearcoat or paint finish? I'm afraid of trying anything and removing more than just the spots! How do I remove acrylic craft paint from my car?
Any damp soft cloth will get acrylic paint off a car. Rub gently, it'll come off easily. You can even scratch with your fingernail without damaging the ducco and it will come off.How do I remove acrylic craft paint from my car?
You can try that Bug and Tar remover..... also WD-40 might do it too.
I would try some over the counter car polish like rain dance and if that didnt work you can use some simonize rubbing compound and lightly rub it to remove the paint
get a block of CLAY MAGIC (used to remove overspray) ask your local body shop should sell it cheap or give a small peice to you wet the area and rub the clay on it untill spots are removed then wash and re wax your car with a good quality wax.
Try ';Goof Off'; in moderation. If that doesn't work rubbing compound and wax will take it off. Do it by hand on one little spot first. The clearcoat is a tough finish put on over the paint so you have some thickness to work with before you can damage the color coat. Work slowly and be carefull; if it's a true acrylic paint spot you might be able to chip it off with the tip of a razor blade.
