What is the best way to paint metal auto parts?

What is the most effective way to prep the metal and what paint would work best. Can glosses work well as enamels and what about flat paints. What is the best way to paint metal auto parts?
the most effective way to prep metal for paint is, to remove paint with a suitable paint remover, when its down to as close to the metal as you can get it, u need to check for dents, scratches ect.. if there are any, repair, and allow to dry when youve done that, then sanding should be done in grades, till your down to a fine grade and end up with a smooth surface, wipe down with thinner on a cloth to clean thorougly,ur ready to paint, celloulose paint is good for metal, as are many types, car paints will work, enamels, and flat paints to but you would have to laquer it to keep it protected as with all the paints a coat or 3 or more will protect the paint. certain paints will require a primer coat with it being metal though so check before you buy is my suggestion ..have funWhat is the best way to paint metal auto parts?
I would use a acrlic enamel, they have ther own gloss, they spray on nicely, and blend well.
