What is the best color to paint a kitchen?

If your cabinets are white and you have a lot of natural light in the room, then you can get by with painting your kitchen a dark color. Otherwise it may feel dreary and depressing. Red walls cause some people to feel anxious and stressed out, because it can be a bit overwhelming.


Light yellow, light sage or a neutral light tan are popular choices for kitchen walls. Think about what would make you happy, when you get up in the morning to have that first cup of coffee. Also think about what color accessories you would use in your kitchen, i.e. canisters, wall clock, small appliances, salt and pepper shakers, spice rack, soap dispenser on sink and curtains etc. Maybe, you would consider using red in your accessories instead of the wall color. You will have that ';splash'; of color, but not so intense. When using all red accessories, as listed above, off-white walls will make a nice background for some wall art that also has red in it. we just painted ours a naked clay..it looks like a lighter terracotta...at first i wasnt sure about the color cause its bold and dark...but after a few days i really like it..if you like red go for it or go for a red...look at paint cards at lowes or somewhere like that...we use valspar paint at lowes and we really like it
I think light tan or yellow is best, I red ppl tend to argue in red rooms more. It would remind me of fire and that's something I don't want yet esp. in a kitchen......I say sleep on it cause it's very bold color but have fun painting.
You know reds are def. in!!! I'd put acouple of them squared plates in display and vases that are shaped pretty weird! You know what check out ikea.com and look for kitchen ideas, I saw some reds the other day!
you try to consult interior designer.. you may ask your friend to choose the best color for you to paint this kitchen...
Dark red looks good in bedrooms. Dining rooms, kitchens etc. should have light colours. Try yellow paint for your kitchen, it will look decent.
I would go for duck egg blue or a pale green so you are bringing the outside inside..
I've always loved yellow for a kitchen.

i was going o say dark red too. a soft yellow would be nice too though. good luck :)
