What are some easy things to paint to use as decoration when I have very little artistic skill?

I want to make my own creation to hang on the wall. I'd like to use acrylics or oil paint on canvas. Any suggestions on what a person with the drawing skills of a five year old can make look good?What are some easy things to paint to use as decoration when I have very little artistic skill?
Have a look at some crafting websites. They may have some inventive ideas with step-by-step intructions. Or, you could go the supremely abstract route and make wild slashes of contrasting colors over a decent sized canvas. If you want it to match with a theme you're already going for, that might be a really funky idea. You could also find a pattern--go to an arts and crafts store and find some of those spectral pattern coloring books. Color in what you want on your painting and try and recreate it. Since they're just minimal shapes and lines, it might be easier for you to get a really cool design from them.What are some easy things to paint to use as decoration when I have very little artistic skill?

these might not be your own creations but they can always give you inspiration. you can paint anything as long as you have a picture or real life reference and painting reference. if you do not have one of these your painting will not be impressive, and you will probably not be happy with it.
Still life is the easy and I'm not very good at painting. You can get some mat borders and cheap but nice looking frames. It will look great. Pick colors from each room and it will blend nicely. Or if you have a digital camera, they take great pictures. There's a lot of different places that print and enlarge pictures.

flowers, also paint 3 on different canvases itll look amasing...you could do a silouette of flowers aswell just draw it in pencil to get it right first itll look great!!!
